The counting of votes for the LLGs in Western Highlands will continue today for Mt Hagen Central district.

Western Highlands Provincial Police Commander Jacob Kamiak says the counting was expected to be completed yesterday but it did not eventuate as planned.

He says Police with the help of PNGDF have conducted road blocks leading into the counting venue since the start of counting.

Kamiak says so far, no security incident has been reported and people are behaving well in the counting area.

Meantime, Western Highlands Provincial Local Level Government Affairs acting Manager Orake Pokara says counting is progressing well with counting team planning to start counting for LLGs in Mt Hagen Central district this morning.

He says Mul Baiyer, Tambul Nebilyer, have been completed while Dei is half complete and is expected to be completed today along with Hagen Central.
