She completed her education through football scholarship in US and now has plans to give back to Papua New Guinea what she learnt to empower women through education.
“For me going overseas and looking back, I believe that there’s a lot that I could come back and give to the country whether it was through my experiences or my education, says Maino.

“Education is the foundation for any young woman to grow and prosper in life and if I can help someone make a change for the betterment in their lives then that would be good enough for me.”
Miss Maino is a testament of education through sports and believes that everyone has special talent endowed to them by the creator.

The talent in football landed her a scholarship and on the eve of her 24 birthday she is now embarking on a new chapter in life.
Lucy has a degree in business administration from the university of Hawaii and she’s taking this year off before pursuing her masters.

She said she believe in supporting women of all ages and empowering them with self-confidence, building self-esteem and develop a voice to speak for themselves.
