By Kana NOKA- FM 100

The Female Kickboxing Showdown is set for tonight starting at 7pm at the Sports Inn Hotel in Port Moresby.

In what will be the first ever International Super Welted Weight Title fight to be witnessed, Jessy Gonapa of Team Headhunter and Jocelyn Nauni of Team Flash will go head to head to see who comes out as the first ISWWT to face her Australian opponent.

PNG Kickboxing Association President Stanley Nandex says female kickboxing has come a long way to reach this milestone and they look forward for the showdown tonight.

Nandex, or widely known as “The Headhunter” says since PNG Kickboxing League was established in 1997, they have never included women kickboxing and this has not balance the League for quite some time.

The Headhunter says the inception of women in kickboxing in PNG is recognized by the World Kickboxing League and that is an achievement in PNG sport.

Jessy Gonapa of Team Headhunter who weighs 71kg, says she is ready and confident, and she has a lot of respect for her opponent Jocelyn Nauni, who weighs 68.5kg.

The showdown tonight will have 6x2 rounds contest with other strong female under-cards fights after the main fight.
