GOROKA Urban LLG Mayor Gabriel Titie acknowledged all residents of Goroka for their hospitality during the Independence weekend which coincided with the annual Goroka Show.
The Mayor was pleased that the town was clean and that visitors were able to see the beauty of the Eastern Highlands capital.

Mr Titie extended his word of thanks to all residents of the five urban LLG wards who volunteered for the general clean-up leading up to the show.
He says he got some good feedbacks from visitors that the town was clean and he is urging the town residents to maintain the good attitudes now and onwards.

The Mayor said he will be approaching various DDAs from Daulo, Unggai Bena, Lufa, Henganofi and Okapa to work in collaboration to ensure the town is clean and that funding for maintaining daily clean-up is made available.

He added that the Goroka Show was also a great avenue for them to meet development partners from outside of PNG and discuss development objectives.
He also acknowledged the special visit by the Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae to Goroka to witness the 63rd edition of the Goroka Show.
